The perspective
A useful session makes room for questions about how a product works, what its claims mean and which trade-offs remain. Reassurance alone may leave the underlying question unanswered.
For conference producers and asset-management event teams, that creates a strong brief: a conversation that connects trust to the decisions your audience actually faces.
Lesley Li brings financial-services experience and U Impact’s behavioural perspective to keynotes and moderated discussions. The session can explore how firms explain uncertainty and respond when values, expectations and investment choices collide.
Brief for a useful answer, including its limits
Ask the organiser and moderator to identify the trust question the session should explore. It may concern the meaning of a sustainability claim, how uncertainty is explained or which trade-offs an audience member should consider. A specific question helps speakers move beyond general reassurance.
Agree how the discussion will handle questions that cannot be resolved on stage. Acknowledging an open question can be more useful than offering certainty the evidence does not support. The organiser can also decide what further information or follow-up belongs outside the session.
Questions for your team
- Which claim or decision is the audience likely to question?
- What evidence should speakers bring to the conversation?
- How will the moderator handle an unresolved question?
Evidence and interpretation
This article offers a perspective on programme design and investor support. The proposed session formats and examples are discussion starting points, not claims of measured customer or event outcomes.
