If your financial-inclusion session ends at “improve access”, what should the audience do next?

The perspective

A product can be available while the decision still feels difficult. People may understand the information and hesitate. They may have started investing and still feel unsure about their next step.

That gives a conference programme a practical question to explore: how should financial-services firms design for the moment between access and action?

Lesley Li brings financial-services experience, U Impact’s work on investor behaviour and international stage experience to that conversation. As a speaker, moderator or host, she connects behavioural insight to the decisions facing your audience: how to communicate, support customers and design their journeys.

Make the inclusion brief concrete

A programme director can make this topic more useful by identifying a moment the audience recognises: explaining an unfamiliar choice, helping a customer ask a question or designing the next step after access has been provided. The discussion then has a decision to return to.

Brief the speaker on the roles in the room and the questions those people can act on. A product audience may want to examine journey design. An adviser audience may want to explore language and support conversations. The theme can be shared while the examples and takeaway differ.

Questions for your team

  • Who will use the ideas after the session?
  • Which decision should the discussion help them examine?
  • What useful question should they take back to their organisation?

Evidence and interpretation

This article offers a perspective on programme design and investor support. The proposed session formats and examples are discussion starting points, not claims of measured customer or event outcomes.
